Humankindness

Quilt commissioned by Dignity Health for their “hello humankindness” social campaign.

In the summer of 2022, five artists across the United States were asked to respond to the prompt: “what does humankindness mean to you?” For me, humankindness is caring for others without expecting anything in return. It is nurture', it is an act of service, an act of love. I envisioned a massive dining table as many acts of humankindness occur here: the labor of providing nourishment, the sharing of stories, the lending of an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Humankindness to me is being in communion with those around you.
